Bye bye Wordpress
I’ve always be a fan of Wordpress, Easy to set-up, to maintain, add themes and plugins… But this site has now become a minimal, handmade PHP site.
Last week I got a mail from my hoster my account got suspended because of a hack. Someone or some tool installed a lot of extra pages with back-doors to do who-knows-what via my website. Because the list of files to be removed was too long, I decided to delete everything.
The fact is, that the problem is not Wordpress itself. It gets a lot of updates which install automatically, so I can assume they know what they’re doing and keep up with vulnerabilities. No, the problem is with the themes and plugins. As soon as one of them has a security bridge, your complete site is in danger. And after some other sites I’ve built in the past got hacked, my own site was one hack too much…
So goodbye Wordpress, we had a good time, but I will now go on with this very simple php-thing…
