Mission accomplished! The finished drum booth.

As a summer project requires, this project required a summer to get completed ;-)

I still need to think about a big (double) door and how to make that one with or without glass. But the booth itself is ready and the drum moved for a first test and audio measurement.

The visible results

The sound isolation is still visible as I didn’t want to make the inner box too heavy for the Regufoam under the floor. So together with a cheap carpet, this gives the booth a cool “jeans look”.

As the Metisse isolation is made of recycled textiles, the walls are fluffy and not irritating compared to glass wool.

The audible results

The goal to reduce the audio levels in our living room is achieved! Of course we still hear the drum and the dB levels are not that much lower, but the bass sound is much lower and the overall “sound impression” is much better. Inside the booth the reflections are a lot lower and apparently this is also nicer while playing, according to my son.
